Adventure Mobile Camping

Our Adventure mobile-tented camp is used on our Tanzania Adventure Safari, but can also be reserved for private safaris. The crew travels ahead in a large truck to set up the camp in private sites. So everything is ready when you arrive. The camp consists of guest tents, a cooking tent and a group dining tent with full service bar. Meals are served family style in the dining tent or under the stars.

The guest tents are the large Hemingway style walk-in tents which consist of a metal frame bed with a thick, comfortable foam mattress and soft sheets and blankets. There's also an attached shower and toilet facility in each tent which zips-off from the main bedroom. A covered veranda area spreads across the front of each tent, and contains camp chairs and table.

Each morning coffee, tea and biscuits are delivered tent-side with your wake up call, as campers are usually up for breakfast at daybreak and out on a morning game drive about an hour later. Morning drives will last from three to five hours depending on wildlife movement and sightings you'll want to stay and observe. The guides will have a clean safari vehicle waiting at the designated time each morning.

After lunch you set out again in the early after noon. Depending on the park, you may or may not come back to camp for lunch, and in those cases, a fulfilling box lunch is taken out for all day encounters.

Dinner will be served about an hour after your return to camp, and your guide (and host) will join you, as he does for all meals. Lively conversation ensues over your four or five course meal, discussing the events of the day and planning for the next.
The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy around the last embers of the campfire, star gazing, or going to reading in your tent, before an early start the next morning.
